The Wanaka Primary School Future Trust formed in 2007.

The Future Trust project was formed by a group of passionate individuals and generous donations. Original trustees included Sandy Guy, Ruth Stevens, Pete Bullen, John Coes, Mike Barton, Anglea Hook, John Laidlaw and Deb Budden. The team was made up of teachers, parents, professionals and individuals all with a common goal, to help the kids at Wanaka Primary School thrive.

The Future Trust exists with the aim of providing Wanaka Primary School with the financial means to support the highest levels of primary education, independent of the standard operational funding given by the government.

Through the years the Trustees have generously donated their times skills and energy to build and maintain a fund in order to assist the school. Trustees have included Will Croxford, Megan Williams, Annie Cambridge.

Whether funding extra teachers to reduce class sizes, providing better access to information and technology or creating specialised learning facilities, the Future Trust wants to ensure that there is an ongoing stream of funding available to meet the growing demands upon primary education. Today the Trustees include Deb Inder, Nigel Perkins, Kathy Nicholson, Jo Lynch, Richard Meylan, Mark Saltiel, Marj Cosgrove
